Explore Scientific 8 x 50mm right angle illuminated finderscope with polar reticle

This finder has excellent optics, good enough that I've done observing with it as a short focus 50mm scope. The twist focuser is easy to use to get a nice sharp image. The multicoated optics really do give a fantastic, expansive 7-degree view. The adjustment screws, being plastic, leave a bit to be desired but are good enough. The illuminator is quite good, easy to adjust and makes the reticle very easy to use even in the darkest conditions. The eyepiece can be turned to adjust the reticle angle for rough polar alignmebt. It is a bit pricey, but the excellent optics are worth the cost.

Keep on mind that the finder base only works with ES and Meade finder shoes. An adapter or a different set of rings will be needed for other types of finder shoes. (Posted on 9/1/2019)
