I bought the mini-pier to adapt my CEM60 onto my standard 2" Synta tripod. It fits perfectly well with no need to modify anything on the mini-pier itself, and is probably just fine for this purpose as-is using the existing M10 center threaded rod. For added rigidity I added an adapter plate, which gives the base a few more points to fasten.
Cons:
1. Walls of the mini-pier are surprisingly thin. The benefit is that it's lighter, but the twist-on bolts don't have much to grab onto from the outside, and without perfect alignment of the outer and inner holes near the base, I'd imaging that it's only a matter of time before the holes become stripped or cross threaded. Not a problem now, and can be easily widened for thicker fasteners in the future if/when needed. The simple solution is to simply leave the mini-pier attached once installed. (Posted on 9/30/2019)
