Product Description

The SBIG T-thread visual back adapter allows you to rigidly mount your CCD imaging camera to the rear cell of a catadioptric telescope (such as a Celestron or Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain or Meade "Advanced Ritchey-Chrétien" catadioptric). This is the safer and preferred method of mounting the camera, rather than inserting the 1.25" nosepiece of the camera into the scope's 1.25" eyepiece holder with only a single thumbscrew to support its weight.

The adapter is precision-made for SBIG by Baader Planetarium in Germany and bears the Baader Planetarium logo. One side has standard 42mm male T-threads that connect to the female T-threads on the front of the camera or filter wheel (after removing the 1.25" nosepiece usually found there). The other side threads onto the 2" threads typically found on the rear cell of most commercial Schmidt-Cassegrain and catadioptric telescopes.

A matching hard plastic dust cap threads onto the T-thread side of the adapter to protect the threads if the camera is removed for any period of time.
