Product Description

Paul Dellechiaie of TeleVue created the 100° field Ethos eyepieces in 2007, the 72° field Delos eyepieces in 2011, and now the 62° field TeleVue DeLite eyepieces - smaller, lighter, and less expensive versions of the Delos. The TeleVue family line of premium eyepieces continues . . . from Ethos to Delos to DeLite to your scope.

The 1.25" 7mm TeleVue DeLite eyepiece weighs only 7.3 ounces. It has a generous 20mm of eye relief, so eyeglass wearers can see the full field, even when wearing glasses. For those with astigmatism, this high power 7mm TeleVue DeLite can use the optional TeleVue Dioptix astigmatism correcting lens.

The unique locking eyeguard, with soft rubber roll-down eyecup, slides up and down the eyepiece barrel to let you choose the most comfortable viewing position for your eye.  The DeLite is parfocal with 1.25" TeleVue Plössl, Panoptic, Nagler, and Delos eyepieces.

A reviewer in Sky & Telescope said, ". . . the DeLites offered superb views. Stars appeared as pinpoints across the entire field; there wasn't a hint of false color around even the brightest stars; and there was only a touch of pincushion distortion, meaning that round objects won't stretch into ovals as you sweep them across the field. Daytime views were contrasty and without a trace of color fringes even at the borders of high-contrast objects such as power lines seen against a bright sky.

"These are the features everyone looks for in a quality eyepiece, but the DeLites offered something more . . . The DeLites are very easy to look through. You never get the feeling that you are struggling to get your eye perfectly aligned with the eyepiece."

I find this eyepiece to be sharp, easy to use, and doesn't upset the balance on my refractor or C9.25. On the moon and planets, the only eyepieces I own that best the Delite on contrast are TMB monos (narrow 30 degree FOV). Looking at adding the 9mm, 5mm, and 3mm Delites to my collection. I purchased this eyepiece from Astronomics, and received it in two days, USPS Priority.
This 7mm Delite is sharp all over the field of view. I was able to resolve the double double with it at only 69x in my 80mm apo. The transmission seems great. The colors are true. Albireo looked yellow and blue, just like it should, and two pinpoints. The star field looks as good as an Ethos, only narrower, and with 20mm eye relief. This is a perfect eyepiece for lunar, planetary, double star, globular cluster, and planetary nebula viewing. (Posted on 8/14/2019)

The TeleVue DeLite's are a remarkably consistent line. The 7mm has been an exceptional eyepiece for lunar and planetary observations in my 120mm ED refractor. Lunar features are razor sharp from center to edge. A crater at the field stop is just as sharp as when it is in the central field. There are no ghosting or glare problems when looking at the Moon and planets. The eyepiece is very comfortable to use with no blackout issues. (Posted on 11/30/2018)

Sharp edge to edge, no glare, no ghosting, high contrast. The build quality is also rock solid. I love the extendable top barrel, together with the rubber eye cup allows for very comfortable viewing. (Posted on 11/21/2018)

Exceptionally sharp, neutral tone, zero glare or ghosting on Moon and very comfortable. (Posted on 10/26/2018)

I use a combination of DeLites, Type 6 Naglers and a 24mm Panoptic in my small refractors on alt-az mounts, keeping similar weight so that I never have to re-balance the scope during a quick observing session. This is one of my most frequently used eyepieces. Super sharp, tone-neutral views with great viewing comfort. In this focal length I compared to 7mm Type 6 Nagler and stuck with the DeLite. Super sharp, tone-neutral views, and field still wide enough where I do not have to nudge the scope too often (for shorter lengths I stick to 82 degree eyepieces when using mounts without tracking.) 7mm DeLite is reputed to be one of the best in these series.
