Product Description

Paul Dellechiaie of TeleVue created the 100° field Ethos eyepieces in 2007, the 72° field Delos eyepieces in 2011, and now the 62° field TeleVue DeLite eyepieces - smaller, lighter, and less expensive versions of the Delos. The TeleVue family line of premium eyepieces continues . . . from Ethos to Delos to DeLite to your scope.

The 1.25" 9mm TeleVue DeLite eyepiece weighs only 7.3 ounces. It has a generous 20mm of eye relief, so eyeglass wearers see the full field, even when wearing glasses. For those with astigmatism, the DeLite can use the optional TeleVue Dioptix astigmatism correcting lens. Its 9mm focal length provides almost exactly the 1mm exit pupil
that most generally provides the sharpest images with an f/10 catadioptric telescope under average seeing conditions.

The unique locking eyeguard, with soft rubber roll-down eyecup, slides up and down the eyepiece barrel to let you choose the most comfortable viewing position for your eye.  The 9mm DeLite is parfocal with 1.25" TeleVue Plossl, Panoptic, Nagler, and Delos eyepieces.

A reviewer in Sky & Telescope said, ". . . the DeLites offered superb views. Stars appeared as pinpoints across the entire field; there wasn't a hint of false color around even the brightest stars; and there was only a touch of pincushion distortion, meaning that round objects won't stretch into ovals as you sweep them across the field. Daytime views were contrasty and without a trace of color fringes even at the borders of high-contrast objects such as power lines seen against a bright sky.

"These are the features everyone looks for in a quality eyepiece, but the DeLites offered something more . . . The DeLites are very easy to look through. You never get the feeling that you are struggling to get your eye perfectly aligned with the eyepiece."

Really wonderful eyepiece well worth the investment. Not only feels like a new scope but also like an increase in aperture. The eyepiece has ruined me! I will never use a cheap eyepiece again.
Thanks again astronomics for all the advice and putting up with all of my nubie questions.

A friend had this eyepiece, and I observed Saturn in his Meade 8" SCT with it. I bought this 9mm DeLite about a year and a half ago, and it is used in general rotation with lower magnification ep's. I use it with a C-8, a C4SE, and a 10 inch Dobsonian. The views of planets are crisp and have good contrast. We have good seeing only rarely where I live, but when good seeing was available, this ep showed detailed views of Jupiter's many bands and splendid views of Saturn's complex ring system. This eyepiece is less expensive than my Televue 13 mm Nagler, but just as good. Crystal clear views to the edge of a very comfortable field and no difficulty finding perfect eye placement despite the generous eye relief. I turned this on an almost full moon with a neutral density filter and despite the face on illumination the contrast is so good with this eyepiece that I could still see marvelous detail despite the lack of shadows. Other eyepieces I have compared show "washed out" views of the full moon.
I then stress -tested this eyepiece with a 2.4X Barlow and the view held up marvelously. This is a great high/medium power eyepiece. You won't regret buying this optic!
