| This short focal length TeleVue Radian eyepiece is superb for medium to medium high power viewing with short focal length refractors and fast focal ratio/short focal length reflectors. Its high contrast and very flat field makes it an exceptional choice for resolving globular clusters, for seeing faint low contrast lunar and planetary details, and for seeing detail in planetary nebulas with these short focal length scopes. It is starting to get into the range of being more or less regularly useful with long focal length refractors, reflectors, or catadioptric scopes under good seeing conditions. While this eyepiece can perform well with a long focal length/long focal ratio scope, don’t expect it to do so every night. Average seeing conditions (the kind you’ll experience most nights) will still limit its performance.
