Product Description

This sloped-top 365 Series cover uses dual layer construction to meet the most demanding 24 hour a day/7 day a week/365 day a year outside exposure coverage needs. It is designed to protect any 5" or 6" refractor with a focal ratio of f/6 to f/8 on a large German equatorial mount. It is designed for mount/scope combinations requiring 60" of vertical cover length as measured from the end of the scope dew shield down to the end of the counter weight shaft with the scope parked parallel to the polar axis. The scope can have a tube length of up to 60". Some typical scopes might include the TMB Optical TMB-130 or a Takahashi TOA-150 refractor on a Takahashi NJP or EM-400 equatorial mount (either standard or go-to), a Celestron CGE mount, or a Losmandy G11 or HGM Titan equatorial mount (either standard or go-to).

A heavy-duty drawstring sewn into the bottom of the cover cinches tight under the telescope base to hold the cover in place in windy conditions. Two spring clamps with plastic tips are provided for additional custom fitting of the cover around your particular scope model. In addition, a lasso-type bungee cord with an adjustable slide barrel lock is provided for additional securing of the cover at midscope/mount areas.

I've been using this cover for the last 6 months in sunny California to protect my Celestron CGEM mount. The cover has done a spectacular job keeping the mount dry, prevents it from overheating in the direct sunlight, and keeps it in perfect working order. I've left my mount polar aligned for these several months, dramatically decreasing my set up and break down time- worth it for that alone! (Posted on 10/11/2018)
