Product Description

This Astro-Tech three-piece set of vibration suppression pads acts to damp unwanted vibrations in your telescope tripod. This allows undisturbed viewing more quickly after your telescope is disturbed by wind gusts, by changing eyepieces, or by bumping the scope accidentally when focusing. The Astro-Tech vibration suppression pads significantly reduce the unwanted vibration time, often to one second or less, letting you see sharper images more quickly. The pads also decrease the amplitude of the vibrations as they die out, making them less visible.

Each circular Astro-Tech vibration suppression pad consists of a disc of elastomeric vibration-absorbing material that is mounted between a hard molded tripod leg cup and a hard molded ground cup. The pads fit between the bottom of the tripod legs and the ground to isolate the tripod from ground contact and soak up vibrations. They work on any hard surface - grass, dirt, concrete, asphalt, wood, etc. There are three small knobs on the underside of each ground cup to allow firm mounting on slightly uneven hard surfaces.

For best results, the rubber feet on the bottom of your tripod legs should be removed before placing the legs of the tripod onto the vibration suppression pads.

My wife bought this for me as a Christmas stocking stuffer. These are great for reducing vibrations. (Posted on 10/23/2019)

I use these to help dampen the motion of observing off of my wooden deck with my big binoculars. They don't eliminate the vibrations but reduce them significantly and change the movement that remans to a less jerky motion that is easier to deal with visualy

Wide field or planetary, these anti-vibration pads have greatly enhanced my observations. They really do work very well with lighter weight rigs, and should be the very FIRST accessory one adds to there observational platform.

I bought these pads because I used to image with an Atlas EQ-G on a wood deck that would vibrate constantly. Door slams, passing cars, etc, would kill my subs. While not a magic bullet, these helped tremendously. Much less vibration than I had previously. Ultimately I stopped imaging on my deck and started to go to a darker site once a month or so. I still use them to eliminate as much vibration as possible no matter where I go. Highly Recommended. (Posted on 12/7/2018)

Got these to battle vibration on my (overloaded) mount. Saw a noticeable difference immediately. Dampens vibration very well. Now using on my much larger and heavier mount. Glad I bought these instead of some of the off-brand ones I was considering. (Posted on 11/28/2018)

I really didn't expect much of these pads. A friend recommended them for my AZ Mount Pro and I am surprised how much they help in dampening vibrations. Lately, they have proved helpful in holding my Skywatcher AZ GTI steady when overmounted with a 4 inch refractor. They work! (Posted on 11/15/2018)

This will damper any vibration that the tripod may have. They work well to keep all vibration to a minimum. Wind will not stop vibration however as the pads are not miracle workers. (Posted on 11/14/2018)

Suppression pads are great on my 8SE. They've reduced the vibrations tremendously.
No need for the way more expensive brand names (Posted on 11/8/2018)

I swear by vibration pads - they are the best 30 dollars you can spend. They massively reduce damping time, turning a shoddy mount into a decent one, and a decent mount into a solid one. There are few more cost-effective ways to improve the ergonomics of your telescope then vibration pads. (Posted on 10/24/2018)

Slightly mis-named in my opinion: they're more for settling any vibration that may happen more quickly, rather than stopping the vibration from happening in the first place. (Although minor vibrations can actually be suppressed.)

Keep that in mind, and you'll be happy with them. :) (Posted on 10/18/2018)

I use these with my CGEM and C-8 SCT. Even though I am on a concrete driveway, vibration from passing cars be seen in photos. The pads eliminate much of the effects of the passing traffic. (Posted on 10/6/2018)
