Product Description
This Astrozap metal dew shield is made of rugged 20-gauge welded-seam aluminum. The interior is lined with contrast-enhancing black felt to absorb both stray light and moisture.
The 21" long Astrozap dew shield is finished in a textured matte blue paint to match the color and textured finish of the optical tube of current 14" Meade LX200 telescopes. The durable powder-coated finish is baked on for long life and chip resistance. Previous model Meade 14" scopes have a smooth-surface gloss blue finish and our part #1964BL would be a better appearance match to the glossy finish of these scopes than this textured matte blue version.
Three nylon thumbscrews in heavy-duty metal inserts lock onto the corrector plate rim to hold the dew shield onto the telescope optical tube and assure a secure fit.

Adding a dew shield to my setup was the best decision I ever made, it has greatly increased the amount of time I can be out collecting data without having to worry about dew ruining my images. Great product! (Posted on 11/4/2018)
