Having dealt with Atlas mount for a few years trying to get autoguiding up and running consistently its time to consider an upgrade. I have seen these mounts in action and they provide a solid platform with exceptionally consistent performance. Not only will this mount provide an upgrade in imaging package but do this with a proven design. (Posted on 1/13/2019)

My previous experience with a Go-to mount was a Celestron CGEM, and with upgrading to the GM811G w/ LW Tripod I am loving the jump in quality. There were some issues out of the box, the collar adjacent to the dec motor was scraping and causing a rub as the dec slewed. I had to adjust the placement of the housing a bit and loosen the collar's grub screw to eliminate this.

Pros:
- In general my PHD2 guiding performance has been in the .8" - 1.5" total RMS range, dependent upon seeing conditions.
- Gemini 2 is an excellent go-to system, the ethernet port makes it really handy to network in and control remotely via PC.
- You can tell that this is a well-machined mount, very impressed with the quality workmanship. The sound of the gear mesh is much more smooth & refined than the rough, ratchety noise of my CGEM.
- LW Tripod has performed well, though I was a bit confused if there was intended to be an accessory tray with bolt threads in the tripod's brace. I was also unclear if the brace was intended to lock somehow (after calling Losmandy I confirmed it is not).
- Combined weight of the GM811 mount + LW Tripod is an awesome option for folks with back issues who will be lugging their mount around assembled.

Cons:
- Balancing RA precisely is a bit tough other than using the back & forth push down method.
- I realize they're busy, but sometimes email support hasn't been very responsive, I ended up calling
- $ difference w/ CEM60, high cost (Posted on 10/7/2018)
