The Powerguide III must be installed by Questar factory technicians in place of the existing AC drive motor in the drive base of the fork mount of your older 7" Questar telescope. It cannot be installed in the field. This requires that your fork mount and drive base be shipped back to Questar for the installation. Fully insured shipping to the factory is the buyer's responsibility. In addition, return shipping will be added. Questar's return shipping is $175 to the East Coast, $185 to the Central US, and $240 to the West Coast.
The illustration above is as of 4/16 and may change when the Powerguide III design is finalized. The Powerguide III is still under development and final specifications and functionality have yet to be established. Earliest availability for 7" Questar retrofits is expected to be September 2016, but may be delayed.
