The eQuinox 2 is an innovative smart telescope that brings the wonders of space within reach, even in brightly lit urban areas.

Our technology eliminates the need for expertise in complex instruments, so you can effortlessly unlock the wonders of space with our user-friendly technology.

Observe galaxies, nebulae, and planets in full colour from even the most urban areas. Enjoy the click-and-wow telescope that is ready to explore space in just two minutes from anywhere.

Autonomous Field Detection

The eQuinox 2 ensures more time exploring space and less time setting up or calibrating. Our system instantly recognizes the objects in its field of view by comparing what it sees with a coordinates database of tens of millions of stars.

This allows the eQuinox 2 automated tracking and pointing system to be extremely accurate and easy to use, making it by far the most user-friendly telescope on the market.

Autonomous Field Detection also allows it to inform you about what you are observing (distance from the Earth, etc.).

Enhanced Vision

Enhanced Vision is a patented proprietary technology that allows a live observation of faint objects thanks to the live accumulation of the light we receive from them. Galaxies, nebulae and comets finally become visible, colourful and detailed.

Depending on observing conditions (light pollution, moon phase, weather, etc…) and the objects you are pointing, it only takes a few seconds for you to start seeing the beautiful colours and shapes of galaxies and nebulae normally invisible, even through the eyepiece of a large conventional telescope.

Smart Light Pollution Reduction

Light pollution, the presence of excessive and unwanted artifical lighting, renders celestial objects invisible to the human eye. Even cameras and computers are challenged by it as it blurs objects, distorts shapes and adds "noise" to pictures.

Unistellar's proprietary software swiftly mitigates the impact of light pollution and allows for distant objects to be observed in crisp detail, even from bright inner-city environments, delivering the best possible image parameters and results. Users benefit from more precise images with better contrasts and colors, regardless of the level of brightness of the sky.

Powerful scientific device with a global community

By partnering up with astronomers from the SETI Institute and other institutions, Unistellar Explorers can conduct valuable space science such as protecting Earth by detecting a hazardous asteroid, discovering and confirming the existence of a hot Jupiter around a distant star, or even uncovering the mysteries of a comet or supernova.

As part of the Unistellar Network - the first global community of 5000+ connected telescope users - they get to exchange with professional astronomers and learn from their observations.

Dedicated App

With the push of a button and tap of the app, your Unistellar telescope recommends the most spectacular targets and launches into deep-space observations, in minutes.

With a catalogue of over 5,000 objects to choose from, use the app to learn about and identify cosmic objects, including which objects are ideal for viewing from your location. Save and share your experience with others – in person or virtually – with your connected tech.

The Unistellar app provides captivating educational content and automates your observing experience, so that novices can enjoy their device right away. The app also offers manual controls for advanced users.

Review by:
I bought my Equinox 2 from Astronomics late in 2022. I did so with reservation as this kind of tech had little appeal to someone weaned on glass. with an eye to the eyepiece since 1964. However, as age and health restrictions dictated a change in equipment I had to try something new to stay an active observer. I am so very glad I did! There are two members of our local club who had already made the same switch so I had the advantage of a local brain trust to pick away at, and pick away I did. The included instructions from Unistellar are woefully inadequate (to someone like me with little tech savvy)and the YouTube tutorials are at best, useful only in the very best circumstances. There is a good bit of trial and error involved with learning to use this scope. The original software had a lot of bugs and had been updated at least 3 times in the past year. Each upgrade did provide some improvement and speaks to Unistellar's efforts to improve your experience. That being said, trial and error eventually brought me to where I can use the scope with little issue today and frankly, it is a total hoot. I observe in complete comfort from a tall back patio chair, viewing live on my phone screen as the scope stacks images. From my Bortle 5.5 backyard, I have nailed several 17.5+ objects and really feel the fun in zooming in on my screen, the surrounding fov, observing live all the while the scope stacks the intended target in the center. In the past ten months, I have observed and recorded nearly 1700 DSOs.This is a very effective observing and recording tool. I have rated it 4 stars in lieu of 5 for the following reasons. The software bugs I referenced earlier were certainly annoying though now, mostly in the past. Collimation is actually difficult despite what the YouTube videos say though I have only had to do so once, when the scope was new, out of the box. The scope is a f4 newt, coma is inherent but not a real hindrance. Finally, the real fov is narrow, very slightly larger than the full moon. The included database is certainly adequate but still lacks lots of targets. This is a simple workaround as you can import coordinates easily into the scope to view whatever object you want. If you take the time to learn your way around the scope and its software you will be pleased with the effort and the scope's performance! For someone like myself, unable to set up traditional gear anymore, this scope is a godsend and I'm sincerely pleased to have it in the stable. (Posted on 11/17/2023)
