Product Description

Not everyone needs an equatorial mount, but they want a computerized goto mount.  It has been difficult to find an alt-az mount, that is fully computerized goto, and be able to hold a good bit of weight as well.  Well, iOptron AZ Pro is the mount you have been searching for.  With its simple "level and go" set-up makes aligning on the skies virtually automatic. Using its built-in precision level indicator, simply level the mount and turn on the power. The AZ Mount Pro's computerized alt-azimuth system takes it from there.
You won't have to pull up any information on your computer or smart device concenring your location.  Using its onboard 32-channel GPS receiver and built-in position and angular detection sensors, the AZ Mount Pro calculates where and when it is on Earth, as well as the telescope orientation. The iOptron mount then automatically slews your scope to an easily identifiable bright object in the night sky. Simply confirm that the bright object truly is in the center of the field and your iOptron AZ Mount Pro is ready to go to and track over 212,000 celestial objects.
The iOptron AZ Mount Pro has a 33 lb. payload capacity. By adding an optional #8953 Vixen-style dovetail saddle to the opposite side of the mount, you can simultaneously mount a second telescope or DSLR camera/lens combo weighing up to 10 lbs. onto the AZ Mount Pro.

The iOptron AZ Mount Pro features . . .

We bought this in early 2017. We practiced using it so we could be comfortable with it during the Total Solar Eclipse 8/21. We enjoyed 2 minutes and 14 seconds of totality. And we also observed the Sun three hours before and three hours after totality. The mount held our C8 with a white-light solar filter on one side, and a 60mm Lunt solar telescope on the other side. This mount give a great performance for the entire run.

We do solar outreach a lot, and use this combination of scopes and iOptron mount on many occasions. At night, the mount just runs the C8 and is great. This is our first higher-quality go-to mount, and we are very pleased with it. (Posted on 12/5/2018)

Several years ago I bought an iOptron Mini-Tower I mount to use at public outreach star parties. I was very happy with that mount, but when the Mini-Tower II came out, I upgraded and again, I was pleased overall with the mount, but still felt it had some limitations. Then the AZ Mount Pro was introduced, and appeared to have incorporated all the features I felt were missing with the it's predecessors. Now I feel I have the perfect star party mount - quick setup (level and go), built in rechargeable battery (no more cord wrap), built-in WIFI, dual Losmandy/Vixen saddle, quiet slewing, and excellent gotos and tracking. In this case, 3rd time really was charm! (Posted on 12/1/2018)

I bought this mount to use with a 65mm, 100mm, and 120mm refractor. It is light weight, easy to set up, syncs with skysafari, and quiet. The initial alignment is very easy as the mount orients itself. Goto's are very accurate and the object stays centered. I am very pleased with performance. I have even done some astrophotography with 65mm scope . 30second subs yielded nice pinpoint stars. You won't be disappointed. (Posted on 11/30/2018)

I’ve had no issues in setting up the mount and have now used it on five occasions. The build quality is excellent. This is my go to mount and I have found it to be very portable and transportable to dark sky sites. I'm currently using a Celestron 8" HD OTA. (Posted on 11/15/2018)

I bought this mount as an upgrade for a Celestron Evolution mount. I wanted a more stable mount for my Celestron 9.25 (and other smaller OTAs) and I wanted the two scope capability that this mount brings. I had a few startup issues with it, and found that the tech support at iOptron is excellent, and they will send out parts along with instructions to take the new under warrantee mount apart and replace the parts yourself. That saved me several weeks as I had two separate issues that required internal parts to be replaced. Now the mount is excellent. It easily carries my 9.25 on one side and an 80mm f6 refractor on the other side. The hardest thing now is aligning the two of them at the start of each session as I use this as my travel mount and like to move it disassembled and in its case. This mount will track a target for hours at a public star party without having to recenter the target. Setup is simple - just point it south, turn it on, and it will move to a bright star for a final alignment check. I knocked off a star for the initial month of issues, bu trigh tnow this is a great investment. (Posted on 11/8/2018)
